Nature's Decay and Rebirth

Flowers fade and decay through wintry hours- waiting for rebirth." Quote by Constance La France

The days are shorter and darker
The air is crisp and sometimes dank
Flowers are wilted and some decayed
The lawn’s brown and frayed

Fall has devoured all summer blooms
Gone are the colors and perfumes
The leafless trees, become barren and stark
Bees, butterflies are sparse

Chipmunks are busy hoarding nuts
As squirrels steal seeds for their nests
Hummingbirds sip the last of their nectar
To start migrating south

Hydrangea's bright blooms all turn brown
Bulbous flowers fall to the ground
Gardens stop delivering their bounty
Nature's sleepy and rests

Winter blankets the ground with snow
Now Spring has arrived and will sing
It’s whimsical song of rebirth and growth
Nature rejoices with joy

Such is life. Like flowers we bloom and eventually die.
