Nature Prayer

Above the grass, a-buzz with bees upon a mellow summer breeze, the morning sun warms by degrees and from my sleepy memory flees the smother of the night’s unease which led me broken, to my knees. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Might I accept that what one sees in humble moments such as these by skyward visions through the trees entranced by warbling ancient seas these secret, sacred reveries piercing, piercing, my soul appease. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Thus, when swallowed by disease or trapped between realities oh might I grasp, and ever seize my God, I beg, I beg it please; the healing warmth of summer breeze to guide me whole, back from my knees.

I enjoyed this poem. I have little experience with monorhyme - you made it very varied and interesting and it seemed effortless.

It is of no wonder that she is called, Mother Nature. To feel her gentle warm embrace and listen to the lullabies of birdsong, can be the nicest part of a healing process. Whatever the season or the weather, there is always something there to fill our senses. A beautiful heart felt write, Graham. Best wishes to you! Mikki

The Grahamburglar, now that we have audio, I'd like to hear you read one of your poems. :) The flow and beauty praised by your words are excellent. You have a wonderful way of begging for the sweetness of nature to always carry that certain warmth... I enjoyed. LINDA
