Nature Nurture and Choices

I heard on the internet
a doctor saying
that you can't blame 
your parents or the Government

you are responsible 
for your life 
you made the choices
that created your life

I agree to a certain degree
you choose if you're going to drink
you choose if you're going to do drugs
you choose if you're going to study

but Governments also choose
they decide what investments to make
they decide how many schools to create
decision's that affect the economy

you can't blame the child
for not getting work
if companies are destroyed
by government decisions

Some times the Parents 
make decisions 
when one parents decides to drink
the child is brought up in a world of poverty

Struggling with schooling 
there is no support from tutors
alcoholic fights can limit 
the time for study

The child that has 
supportive parents 
without alcohol or drug problems
has a better chance

The child that has parents
with the money to support
their education has a better chance
poverty affects development 

Country's go to war
because of Government decisions
soldiers that come back from war
disabled by PTSD 

Parental disability affects child development
parents that spend time reading
to their children
affect their child's development

social interaction friends 
the ideas of other children 
affect the child
children can encourage each other

supporting education 
group discussion can lead
to developmental growth  
or they can encourage  child 

to abscond from school
children from gangs 
fight with each other 
bullying each other 

destroying self esteem
leading to depression 
avoidance and at times suicide
to say choice belongs to the child

is to put the blame 
on just the shoulders of the child
that is not fair and not the truth
if you have to have blame

then a percentage of blame
lies on everyone shoulders 
Government decisions affect lives
the decisions and attitudes of parents affect children

The ideas of friends, enemies and relations
all have an affect on the child
fear of abusive adults creates anxiety
perhaps that anxiety personality development

Anger and fear appear to be 
opponent emotions 
when the child becomes angry 
it overcomes fear 

Nature, Nurture and choices
even genetics the healthy good looking child
gets employment easier 
skinny people a seen as having an illness

Is the personality of the child fixed by genetics 
or developmental, strength and confidence coming from 
academic and sporting success 
failure, building anxiety, fears and phobia
