Nathan

He was one of the good ones, The best of the best. He had gone into danger At his nation's request. He was not there to fight Only there to rebuild; Too young and too good And too brave to be killed. He is one of too many Who've gone to Iraq To help protect freedom But will not be back. His parents are proud To have raised such a one; A beautiful, dutiful, Courageous son. His loved ones are in tears. Their loss is immense. That he's not coming back Just doesn't make sense. Some are spared, some are taken, God only knows why. He took our love with him When his turn to die. Placed no. 1

Joyce, this tribute is so well-deserved by Nathan and all the other young people that our nation has sent to war. May his soul rest in peace and God comfort his loved ones' hearts. I still ask, is it worth their lives? Is this going to stop our enemies from hating us? We don't even know these peoples' mentality. I will never believe that a certain foreign government does not know where Osama Ben Laden is. It is impossible. Peace, Audrey

Dear Joyce, I am sorry this happened in your family. When you say "his parents" do you mean he is your parents' son or your own son? I imagine he was your son or perhaps a grandson, right? Goodness, did this happen very recently? I am so sorry for your loss, Joyce. And you honored him well with your poem. I love that name Nathan too. It was one of my choices I had picked in case I had another son. I bet he was a wonderful man. LUv, andrea
