Nathan
He was one of the good ones,
The best of the best.
He had gone into danger
At his nation's request.
He was not there to fight
Only there to rebuild;
Too young and too good
And too brave to be killed.
He is one of too many
Who've gone to Iraq
To help protect freedom
But will not be back.
His parents are proud
To have raised such a one;
A beautiful, dutiful,
Courageous son.
His loved ones are in tears.
Their loss is immense.
That he's not coming back
Just doesn't make sense.
Some are spared, some are taken,
God only knows why.
He took our love with him
When his turn to die.
