Narrow Escape

NARROW ESCAPE

At eve, me and hubby on nice car drive
in remote tourist spot to be explored.
Dusk on misty mask ready to arrive.
Haply found Victorian house beside road.

Walked making way through wild weeds, thorny bush
. to watch half-closed broken door, odd shaped.
Both curious, carefully tried to push
A heavy wooden chunk fell, I escaped.

In dense dark crescent Moon peeped through window,
entered the hall turning ghostly gibbous
glowing on ceiling where resting black widow.
Spider jumped chasing us looked furious.

Giant black cat running after macro mouse.
Puzzled n bewildered, we rushed in hurry.
I was horrified and lost my rescuer spouse.
In the road no trace of car or hubby.

Haunted house scary daft and surreal.
I ran and ran till I reached our motel.
All in festive mood, cool calm cordial.
Found my dear husband enjoying cocktail.
