Names From Yesteryear

Hortense and Gertrude
   Priscilla, Imogene
Once-popular names
   no more to be seen

Isadore, Cornelius
  Cyrus and Mortimer
Back in the day such
  names courted her

You never know though
  when a name may return
Such as Ambrose, Edsel
   Penelope or Fern

A creative/cute write. When you hear some names, you just know it will be an old person. Have a blessed day..................

Thanks, Bill. And I left out so many golden oldie weirdos, such as Hortense, Murgatroyd, and 'Archie.' ~ Fun and More Fun, gw

Mercedes?! Reminds me of my 7th grade science teacher, Mr. Studebaker Sturdivant. (You can't make a name like that up, can you? Tee-hee: but I just did). :) gw
