How many layers should you peel off an onion?
I often stomp in the salad
                      yes, until it is inedible
                      In confidence _ to risk

Trust must always lie with the bottom up
                      The gears are spinning
                      Call me naive
I believe ... until proven otherwise

I like how this poem uses the onion and salad as a playful way to talk about trust and vulnerability. It feels honest and relatable, especially the line “I believe ... until proven otherwise.”

I always hated peeling onions and worse I only eat them well cooked. Hugs.

Anne-Lise, are you saying we are exposed when we trust? Yes, I do think that is true for sure. We do have a limit when there is too much onion in the salad. At some point we say no more. That you delve deeply and find sometimes that what's there is bad news is a sign of an astute individual! Smiles!!

Awesome poem, my friend. I love lots of onions on certain foods, and calf liver is one and I haven't had it in years. Forgive me, I like meat. Good luck my friend.

Excellent write! Naive faith so much better than complicated lost thoughts or fake faith, in my view :-) A favorite!
