“Whatever you do, never run back to what broke you.” Unknown Author from notsalmon.com

The pain will fade and eventually go.
The bruises too will cease to show.

Whispers of "sorry" given with a smile.
Will again make me stay for a while.

Fearing another swipe of his hand.
wondering this time where will it land.

My body is weak, too tired to cry.
Stay out of his way and don’t defy.

The fear of tomorrow is worse today.
With nowhere to go I can only stay.

I must obey every evil command.
Pray for the help of a gentle hand.

Again he is sorry but do I believe?
My mind says get out now, Leave.

I flee the house as quick as I can.
Right into the arms of another man.

Stumbling and shaking I nearly trip.
Takes me to his home. I see his whip.
