Mystifying Things
A few things that have always mystified me
Why must something as exquisite as a diamond
Or a towering, majestic oak take so long to be,
What’s it like living every day on a tropical island?
How do honeybees duplicate their perfect comb
A few things that have always mystified me,
More still, how do they find their way back home?
In nature few things are fascinating like a honeybee.
Was the Grand Canyon once home to another sea?
Why do folks believe the most insane theories?
A few things that have always mystified me,
To mention a few of my intellectually based queries.
Since childhood, I have shown an inquisitive bent
That no two people have ever shared an exact identity
Like why the wind quit blowing, and where it went
A few things that have always mystified me.
