Mysterious Night

Stars are scattered amid bluish hues Darker clouds are peering through Moon is lost in the stormy night A distant skyline appears in sight. Couples frolicking on the evening deck Flaunting jewelry and elegant dress Flirting and romance in the air Posing for pictures everywhere. Dining room's buzzing, the ship's cruising Singing, toasting, boasting, sipping Enjoying a lobster dinner tonight The desert line up will soon delight. Dancing, drinking peaked in overdrive Calm sets in sensing positive vibes Until the Coast Guard arrives And search begins as someone dies. She went overboard from the tenth deck "Must have jumped" the husband says No one's buying his sorry story The captain believes to the contrary. The ship's cameras did not capture What took place no one knows for sure The gossip ends on ship's arrival Mysterious night awaits next departure. As I read the first couple stanzas I thought this would be about the Titanic, but there is tragedy just the same, Very nicely penned Vijay

You have allowed the romantic atmosphere turn into a tragedy so mysterious. No one must have probably anticipated such an ending . So many doubts arise in the minds of the readers.... is it an accident, a suicide or a murder? Great penning!

Ahhh, yes, this is most definitely worth an investigation, this kind of fishy mystery! I had to look hard for it, but I found this interesting poem of yours farther back in your collection!
