My words

My words
are not your words
and your words
are not my words
because
my words mean
what I want them to mean.
They may fall off the wall
and smash themselves up
into a million pieces
and never be never
connected again
or make up the rungs
of a ladder
on which my words
run up and down
my words can be long
and to the contrary
be extra long
or likewise
be extra short
they can obviously laugh
and laugh till they cry
they can extend themselves
without punctuation
and shake your hand
they can go on forever
and forever say
that that they were just
passing through.
