Roy Pett Poet Sonnet

My Winter

Excitement now enthrall my every sense
peering through our cold misted windowpanes 
seeing blankets of pure white so intense
enthusiasm, blood rushing through my veins,
winters beauty flooding my thought pattern 
snow flurries illuminated sunlight
reflects universe from mars to Saturn 
delightful sight on this midwinters night,
as we sit warm and snug, logs in fireplace 
sweet smells wafting from our well stocked kitchen
melodic Christmas sounds do our ears grace
winter sports, games, that we can compete in,
celebrate this wonderful time of year
with hope, happiness, dispel any fear.
