My Wall

It's taken years to build this wall One loose fitting brick at a time I can't expect to knock it down Simply over night The thoughts I've used for mortar In this hardening of the heart The chisel of my consciousness Isn't quite sure where to start At times it tends to lean Over mistakes that I have made In my rush at selfishness A weak foundation has been laid Always is a process This building up and tearing down Using bits and pieces That I find laying around Years now in the making The height fits well the crime But I must dissemble it brick by brick If I'm to get on with my life
