My Tribute To Anne-Lise, Poet Destroyer and Skat

When I joined soup they rolled out the welcome mat
Anne-Lise, Poet Destroyer and her lovely sister Skat

I felt so excited that my poem had been read -
As the idea of posting had filled me with dread!

They all work so hard to build a community
To welcome new people who write poetry
 
There are many other people I would love to mention
But I’ve only ten lines; Andrea won’t give an extension!

Thank you to all who have helped me on my way
And with luck I may write a decent poem one day!

Congratulations on your wonderful win! : ) Jan Allison November 26, 2016 at 7:43 PM On Friday it was the 3 year anniversary of my husbands cancer surgery and the date of me writing my first poem 'splendid Isolation' I look back over the notes I wrote and it saddens me the lack of support I had from my family as dad wouldn't let me tell my mum. it was only August last year I told her when my interview was going to be on the radio and it said how I had started writing... how my life has changed since I first picked up my pen! hugs Jan xx

She is always so kind, cheerful, almost childlike in her innocence.
