My Traitrous Tongue

I decided to eat my head today. But it would not cooperate, so my tongue ran away. I needed it back by supper time. It laughed at me and stuck itself out all prim and fine. Come on! I coaxed it, enlisting the help of my favorite tooth. But the tongue was prissy and stuck up and acted aloof. My head was excited that it could not be eaten. So, I pushed it into a bag of sugar. Not it is sweetened. Why do you do this? Asked my brother who is a nerd. I could not answer without my tongue, so I gave him the bird. The bird was a cardinal, all pretty and red. My tongue came back and jumped way back in my head.
