My Time To Die
Some days I find it difficult to find a simple word
I know it’s somewhere deep inside
I search in vain and wonder
what is going on inside my brain
The aging process has begun
so please believe me when I say, it really is no fun
For every day new challenges, to encounter, come to light
Living gets more difficult - problems multiply over night
Aches and pains are so restricting
all I want to do is walk
with each step I feel so slow
just want to run and have some fun
before Grim Reaper calls…
So please I beg for just one day
and when the sun shines I’ll make hay
to do the things that make me smile
and smell those roses for a while
To contemplate my life thus far
a rich and varied tapestry
a life so full with joy and laughter
memories made - cherished hereafter
When finally my time is nigh, my spirit and soul will soar up high
and waving Mother Earth goodbye, I’m ready to leave ~ my time to die
