My Teachers
My First teacher, was in fact my creator
Brought life to me, there was no one greater
Fed me from her own, I was never alone
My first everything is what I was shown
Protected me from the world, loved me beyond doubt
Led me to her path but I took my own route
My Second teacher, was in fact my saviour
Taught me what was acceptable behaviour
The bringer of light, instilled in me what was right
My future was bright if I only not smite
Turn a cheek to the world and he'd embrace me forever
But his enemy tricked me, he was so clever
My Third teacher was in fact my believer
Put me up on a pedestal, told me the World was a deceiver
Explained all the half truths, taught me to use my mind
But the price and sacrifice was to lose inner kind
Simply man against man, and I needed to win
Forget happiness, No action was sin
My Fourth teacher was in fact my own mind
Taught me to decide what is right and kind
A balance that feels right, no more inner fight
When to use love and when to use might
Took many years, my teachers wiped many tears
But they taught me how to deal with my peers
I thank all my teachers, they taught me too well
Not looking to clouds and not looking to hell
I'm looking to me, to do what I need
To stop self pity, hatred and greed
Just achieve and believe, bringing smiles to the world
And watch the negative destroyed as its hurled
