Greg Barden and I had a 'poppy dialogue', after he read this poem of mine on my blog, and I realised I never posted it here. Read Greg's poppy poem here:

My lovely short-lived flower Your sweet red tender petals Raised proud towards bright sunlight So frail, endlessly frail I am with you in your garden Kneeling down between you Curling up while listening To your soft red whispering The blue sky high above us Is playing with your colour The yellow sun completes it Primary shades of lost lives This is the perfect setting Of sun and your short life’s end Give me the peace to stay here Like you I will be reborn *** June 15, 2017 Iambic trimeter Copyright © Darren White
