My Stay Is Done
Sunsets of my life compress into one
The one today is the last one ever
Beauty lies in the sinking of the sun
And it seals a bond that will not sever
I came not for great things but for the small
Not to create fame but to give pleasure
That first kiss on the lake while the Loons call
And a young boy's search for pirates treasure
The peace of calm water 'neath a full moon
The lap of rippled water on the boards
A reminder that winter will be soon
And ice will turn the ripples into chords
My stay is done and I will turn to dust
Think of me now with a smile if you must
