"there is no spot of ground that cannot be
tamed into beauty and delight."
quote_ by Constance
the moment winter softens . . .
I will welcome lovely. . . daffodils and tulips
flowers will spring up from fall bulbs planted
oh, but where did I plant them
adore the first snowdrops peeking
out from the melting snow also
~ oh, daffodils with your cheery good looks
and trumpet yellow blooms and though short lived
are sweetly fragrant and velvety ~
there are tulips
and there are tulips . . . wonderful and bright
in hues of the rainbow for a wonderful silky show
and in my city there is a spring tulip festival each year
with thousands of tulips swaying
~ and before too long
I am yearning for swaths of color in purple, lavender,
pink and orange, for crocuses and day lilies,
and irises in the sun ~
