My Special Tree

How strange this year has been. You see, in my front yard’s a special tree. By April seventh or about the 10th, at least, its blooms poke out! My prettiest of trees by far - like fluffs of cotton its blooms are. This April has gone very fast. No blooms appeared as days flew past! But on this 28th, with glee, I saw the blossoms on my tree! Written April 28, 2023 when I saw the blossoms. For A Brian Strand Premiere No 1216 Poetry Contest

They do surprise us some years! Congrats on your top win Andrea. This poem is so full of angst then followed by pure delight! Made me smile as I thought about our late blooming Gravenstein tree! I always hold my breath waiting for it to bloom. It volunteered in our yard and I baby it as it produces the most wonderful cooking apples!! Blessings to you!

Dear Andrea, This is a lovely poem, and I can just see the white blossoms popping out and coming into view as you step out on your porch! Wonderful image. Carol Louise

I had the same problem, with my magnolia tree, flowers have rotten, and didn't flourish, may be the climate change, thanks for the delicate penning
