My Special Place To Meet My God

Midst life’s race, my soul seeks solace in haven: Hope’s fortress glowing with bliss’ iridescence. To my prayer closet* I flee, faith-driven …Where I meet my God and bask in His presence. Along grace-altar that’s love, mercy-proven… He revives my spirit with His peace-incense. Worshipful, I linger, staying triumphant In my communion nook, divinely radiant!
*Matthew 6:6 …When thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and… pray to thy Father which is in secret… January 31, 2019 6th place, "My Place..." Poetry Contest Sponsored by Carolyn Devonshire; judged on 2/4/2019.

Beata, lines one, four, five and eight each have twelve syllables. I delayed posting winners to give people a chance to make corrections. But for these errors, your lovely poem would have ranked higher. It was very difficult for me to judge this contest because contestants wrote so many incredibly beautiful poems. It's my hope that all of them will regard their entries as wonderful "stand-alone" poems. Congratulations on your win! Best wishes, Carolyn
