My Soul Caught Up With My Body

My soul caught up with my body. Around about last Christmas, and not because of that, when Christmas pressure and buying presents can leave the soul quite flat. No, my soul caught up with my body because I took some time to stop. I left my home, put down my phone, and finally shut up shop. 'I'm closed', the sign said on the door, closed to rush and hurry. I've cleared my shelves, I've turned the lock. There's no more stock of 'please do this' and 'must do that.’ I'd like to think they won't be back. And so my soul caught up with my body. They greeted each other with joy. They talked a while and learned to smile and invited their friend to join. The one who made them both stood by at first, but then came close, and blessed their friendship again. Those three-bound friends made stronger bond with righteousness, joy and peace, the gift the Giver always gives if rush and hurry cease. The gift the Giver always gives as we talk with this friend on our knees.
