My Soul At Sunset

With a golden smile, I lower myself; then slathered out like apricot jam, I brighten on the horizon until I glow bittersweet. Flaming coral, I now settle on the beach. Yielding to night, my soul slips into sea. April 16, 2020 for Chantelle Anne Cooke's Slipping Soul Sunsets Into The Sea Poetry Contest

Beautiful imagery Andrea. Love the shape giving visual movement to your flowing poem. And I love the voice of the sun. Especially love the line about apricot jam - one of my favorites though I think we just finished off the last jar! Blessings on your day my friend. Good luck in the contest.
