Deep inside, where my secret
Self breathes, whispering prayers
To the One I know as Master
I laugh, I dance, I praise
With joy that is my inspiration
Deep within, where my dreams
Awaken my heart to sensations
Of light shining across bare
Naked emotions, insights
Ideas that reassure my kindness
Deep inside, where my love
Colors my eyes in a sparkling
So gentle it flows softly
Through my hopes and beliefs
With faith that leaves me sure
Deep inside, where my laughter
Pours out from my heart
Breaking me free from hurt
Delighting me with its warmth
Embracing me with courage
Deep inside, where my desire
Sighs out a fire of yearning
Mellowing my awkwardness, severity
With music that breaks through
Singing peace into my confidence
Deep inside, where my life
Imagines, wishes, waits
For the miracle and wonder
Of God’s phenomenal gift to us
Vowing love that lives forever
Deep inside, where my God
Knows me better than I know
Who I am, where I go
When I’m learning to know
God is always in control
Deep inside… God gives me
Love that lives and gives
Forever and always
Eternally, to my
Soul
