my sore legs

There once were old legs full of fight,
That creak in the dawn’s early light,
Though knees whisper “stay,”
They march anyway,
With pride in each stumble despite the plight.

Ignore all negative signals given by the body and move forward with the strength of mind. Great Limerick, funny and inspiring at the same time.

A contrarious dialogue, first the knees, conveying usefulness and the unavoidable need for rest, pleads for a halt to the exertion. Then the legs' "pride" drives them forward, embodying a stubborn refusal to admit failure or fault. A humorous write of wit, Aloha.

Hey Jay, you made me grin and wince in the best way. It’s got that perfect mix of grit and grace, just like a battle hymn for the body that won’t quit. Soreness is a badge of honor, and you made it feel triumphant. Pride doesn’t come from perfection, it comes from showing up, even when the knees say “no.” Autumn Blessings, Jay, Daniel
