My Son

My beloved son take a look around, God’s love does greatly abound. Behold with your heart and quickly you’ll see, The love he pours out will forever be! Today watch the sunlight dance upon the water, And how the ripples move as they flow a yonder. Look to see how the grass does sway, Upon the delightful banks of the Matagorda Bay! Please listen close and soon you’ll hear The grunting Spoonbill tickling your ear. Take a swift run down at the beach, Hear the waves, as to you they preach! O' my son, reach forth your hand, Touch God’s beauty, put your toes in the sand. Don’t worry about any possible thorns, Go ahead my son, take the bull by its horns! Take a big whiff of the salty sea air, And close your eyes, just be aware! Fragrances fade rapidly into the night, But oh how scents can instantly excite! Taste my son and see that God is good, For today he has placed you in this amazing hood. When you get home taste the lips of your wife, Hug your children and enjoy this life! O' my dear son with love I speak, Take up God’s sword, be strong not weak! Don’t let the enemy distort your view, God has such wonderful plans for you! Don’t let the world’s sea toss you to and fro, Even the crashing waves know where to go! In the beginning God set them in motion, Taking their form in a mighty vast ocean! Finally son, before the waves reach their end, Their strength and beauty arise within! Therefore my son there's no need to frown, Because laid up for you is a heavenly crown!
