My Soldier

Days go by end on end, Star-filled nights and full-blown moons, Eyes are bright smile is wide, Looking at the wonders of the nights sky, Apart we may be but my heart it to you alone, Please come home safe and sound, So I may see your wonder smile once again, On the ocean shores here I await your return across these vast horrid plains, Days on days, Nights on nights, As a soldier you fight your fights, Lifeless bodies all around you, Spread across the rugged ground, But you yourself are on your way to return to me, God bless America for keeping you so close to me, God bless himself for returning you home safely, God Bless My Soldier!
