My Sister's Secret Box
In my older sister’s special lavender box she kept
All of her finest treasures secretly hidden away
Stashed under the bed where we as children slept.
When I unwittingly discovered the box, she wept
Because I had found her prized hidden cache
In my older sister’s special lavender box she kept
Valentines and letters I had literally over-slept
In that box tied up with a wide red ribbon so gay
Stashed under the bed where we as children slept.
At violating my sister’s privacy, I was quite adept,
Which, for a little brother, was certainly not okay.
In my older sister’s special lavender box she kept
For those treasures a brother was never to intercept
[She vowed my discovery would make me dearly pay]
Stashed under the bed where we as children slept
Her anger erupting, I quickly learned a new concept
If one snoops around, one better learn how to pray
In my older sister’s special lavender box she kept
Stashed under the bed where we as children slept.
