My Side of the Street

Crystal cloudy lessons of pathos.
A dawning awareness in the gloaming.
Valiantly, a melancholy soul goes on.
Toward an unpredictable future.

A frosted flake without a growl.
Left to grieve forevermore.
The shadows now have walked away.
Looking for the sun in a sky of grey.

a sad (yes, melancholy) poem but i think i detect a ray of hope at the end, robert (or at least i hope so). my favorite line is the "frosted flake without a growl." now THAT is poetry!
