My Shoes

Every girl dreams!
Was it my fault!
As I sat there watching TV,
I really wanted them,
My heart ached,
As I begged and pleaded,
Not giving parents rest,
My mind was fixed,
Programming mode,
Or hypnotized! Whatever,
I wanted them,
My brain would not let up,
Life couldn't continue,
Every day for weeks,
As soon as my eyes woke,
Until I went to bed,
I was focused,
My aim was straight,
Had I won the battle,
Were my parents weakened enough,
Yes! Yes! Yes,
My Cinderella shoes with high heels,
I put them on in excitement,
Walked around a couple of times,
The burning desire quickly subsided,
Don’t remember wearing them again.
Did I really want them?
I wear flat comfortable shoes now.

HA, yes, I understand that feeling exactly. I too have wanted those high heels and then once on my feet, they are just too uncomfortable to enjoy them. Also my dr. says I better not wear them becuase of my degeneration on my spine. So true. I got a bad problem trying to wear just small heels last year. Great poem.

I love the write, Wendy, you brought a thought. A few weeks back my 10 year old kept following me around the store wanting a pair of silver h-i-g-h heels... Please grandma.... Noooooooo... she carried them a while until she realize grandma was not going to get them. I always give in but not this time...:) good luck in the contest

Hi Wendy, I really enjoyed this write. I can remember wanted something really bad as child, and once I got it I played with it a few times and through it in the closet. I'm with you with the high heels. Can't stand them lol! I wish of luck in the contest: -) Alexis

A most enjoyable read Mrs Wendy. Sounds like a typical child. I'm not sure any woman could honestly say that high heels are comfortable. Love the humor.
