My Shepherd – Psalm 23

Like a shepherd
He watches over me
Takes me to where the green pastures are
So I would feed fat and nourish my soul
At the sun set
He takes me to still waters
Washes me clean till my wool glows
Gives me water to quench my thirst
And restores me to life once again

In the field when the wild animals threaten
He tells me he is there with me
My invaders he has chased away
And in peace he has kept me

When in the path of disobedience
Following selfish desires and lusts
He has always brought me back with hid rod
And with his staff he has shown me the right way

With his life he saved my life
His comfort he sacrificed to give me peace
His joy he gave away that I might rejoice
His glory he jettisoned that I might be perfected
So awesome is your love
That I will desire more
