My Second, But My First
She's my second wife
But to me she's my first
So when I told her this she asked me to explain
I said to her that Matthew 20:16 says: So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.
Which mean
Being with my first wife
That was my last time being mislead
It was my last time dealing with drama
It was my last time putting up with heartaches, and pain
Most of all it was my last time doing things without listening for direction from God.
You are my second wife
But to me your my first wife Because for the first time in my life I truly understand what true love is
You are my second, but first wife Because for the first time I know that I'm with someone who loves me for me
You are,
My second, but first wife
Because you are the first woman to love me with your whole heart
You are also the first to help me to understand that my life is worth more then I see, and the first woman to give me a reason to strive for better
And most of all
You're the first woman that I didn't call or look for on my own
But you're the first woman that God has chosen for me
And with that being said you are my second wife, but in my heart you'll aways be my first
