My Reverie
Swinburne form
Suspended on a hilltop,
I sit in reverie
considering my future.
How life is just a vapor,
yet worlds continue nonstop.
Is this how things must be?
Suspended on a hilltop,
I sit in reverie.
What can I do that matters
for good before I’m gone?
Lasting legacy, I know
thus far, my input – zero,
just bits and pieces, tatters,
when life on earth is done.
What can I do that matters
for good before I’m gone?
Descending from my mountain
I seek new destiny -
to write the grace of God’s love,
His wisdom, mercy, whereof
a pure, glorious fountain
will flow eternally.
Descending from my mountain
I seek new destiny.
Convinced of God’s omniscience
my soul's within his care.
And when my feet do falter,
His Spirit's my Gibraltar.
I tell of God’s sufficience
See Him, He’s everywhere.
Convinced of God’s omniscience
my soul's within his care.
