My Prison

Invisible fortress
Of inner seclusion
Locked in a prison
Inside myself
A miasma of fear
That keeps me chained
To the baggage of the past
From which I long to escape from
No bars, no doors
Yet, stagnant I remain
Ghost of fear
Trailing me like a shadow
Subtle whispers of doubt
A reminder of the fraud that is me
That I hide from everyone
