My Pet Hate -- Losing My Temper
Hate is a four-letter-word that I just hate hearing
Worse than words thought worse, considered swearing
What I really, truly hate more than anything, however
Is when I lose my temper -- something I should never do ever
They say a decent person only sins when he's overcome
By a spirit of nonsense; better he be struck dumb
For sin is one thing; temper's altogether quite another
As the latter's consequences can for a lifetime matter
Lose your temper once with a child; you may have ruined that child's life
And never ever lose your temper with your darling wife
The Bard's dictum of 'Hell hath no Fury like a woman scorned'
You'll soon understand, wishing you had never been born
Hate is an awful thing; may from the world it forever cease
But losing one's temper's worse, turning man into beast
