My Paris Song
For too long I've been chained to a painful memory
So I look to the sky to find a way to become free
With nary a glance back I leapt into the hot air balloon
And floated into the air with the look of a crazed loon
I rose so high clouds looked like the cotton field
I fled to when I needed my heart healed
Perhaps it's symbolic flight is my Paris song
Drifting so high above is where I feel strong
And in a serene sunset the clouds begin to part
So I can see the path for a brand new start
A yellow brick road of balloons just for me
Almost like a sparkling golden sea
So I fling myself into the air and jump
From balloon to balloon it's quite the romp
Don't mind me I've been sad awhile
I've just been granted a reason to smile
