My Own Shadow

I walk the streets at the dead of night,
the street lights the only light in the sky,
no moon,
no stars,
I walk alone,
so i think i am alone,
i turn around quickly,
to see a scared cat with the hairs on its back standing,
i turn back around,
and pick up my pase,
i crash from behind me,
makes me run,
foot steps from behind me,
i think i am going to die,
when i turn the next corner,
to see my house in site,
i run in and lock the door,
i look out the window to see nothing,
it must have been my imagination,
i was scared by my own shadow.
