My Own Person

Can I be me
Do I have to be like everyone else
Why can't I be my own person
I have to do my own thing
I can't become another female statistic
I am not going to starve myself to be thin
I won't change my hair color three million times
I will be me
Can't I be my own person

I love it! Being your own person today is hard isn't it but I do agree with you and I try to be different than others. Sometimes because I do I stand alone on issues! Great poem! Love Laura :)
