My Own Concoction

Some people call it breakfast which makes me snicker and giggle
It might have been since it starts with a pancake or two
except then I add extra things to make it into a dessert.

At the very least I add a pacakage of vanilla pudding,
a teaspoon of cinammon, a quart of fat luscious blue berries
Then I lavishly sprinkle it with a cup of brown sugar.

Next I add.....
Bananas, chocolate syrup, maple syrup,
Caramel syrup, and of course I top it off
with half a spray can of whipping cream. When I eat
all of the whipping cream off, I use the rest of the can.

When my masterpiece is finished no one would suspect
it ever started out as a couple of simple pancakes.
Except my family who have started making their own
concoctions - each starting with two pancakes.

As a diabetic, Karen, just reading your concoction has me losing consciousness and my sugar index off my meter! No thanks, I stick with a banana or blueberry muffin and a sugarless cup of coffee. A fun read. / Maurice

I do believe I am a diabetic too. I keep asking my doctor to test me and she keeps "forgetting" to add the test to my labs. How can she keep forgetting this?

Caren, I flipped for your pancakes, though I hope to graduate to waffles one day. Whipped cream delight stacked in your sumptuous deck. A full house masterfully pieced concoction if ever there was. -Richard

Karen, I just made pancakes for my granddaughter this morning and the first thing she asked for was the whipped cream. I gave her an egg and ham instead and some maple syrup. Maybe tomorrow I’ll make her blueberry pancakes and let her go crazy with the whip cream. LOL. We both have a sweet tooth. I enjoyed your over the top pancake surprise! Blessings xxoo

Thank you Connie. My oldest daughter actually eats her pancakes under a mound of vanilla pudding whipped cream and blueberries. I eat mine under peanut butter, syrup and bananas.

It's very interesting, and I love experimenting with food too. My husband eats all the sweets around here since I am trying to prevent cancer coming back, so I rarely eat sugar. but I DO LOVE this stuff you write about and a few times a month I too will splurge like this!! Great job, Caren.

All good things start with a great foundation. I think you have the secret. Love your work. You have a certain unique style that no one could, nor should, even try to imitate. Great writing!! On my way to the supermarket:)

OMG, after that I'd put on 15 pounds and my sugar would skyrocket. Blueberries are healthy, though.
