My Old Home

On my village's dusty lane,
Temple bells hum afar,
Bikes rumble, jasmine swirl,
Dhol , flute music echo,
Elder men sip chai at dusk,
Steps echo homeward bound,
Heart drifts back to that old home.

Very good work! This has to be for Nette's contests, so I advise you to reword title as hometown instead of just home. Also the poem would not be affected by that change.

Thanks Andrea. For almost a year, I have not entered any contest. Although I get all the inspiration from contest topics, entering a contest does not suit my age. In my twilight years, I should be encouraging other poets than competing with them. Ethically it does not feel right for me.
