My New Life

I had my time 
joy and happiness 
ups and downs 
no time to reflect 
organize my thoughts 
work play sleep  
repeat 
this is my new life
yes years flew by 
like the old folks warned us 
suddenly I am what I will call 
very mature 
now is the time to let the young show me 
how they live 
visit me with tales of their lives 
a wedding a baby 
exciting times 
watching them grow up 
turning into smart and caring people
fills my heart
I hope I had a small part
sharing the world
with these beautiful souls
