My Motivation

What keeps me going and going For loving my time on this earth When life is a chore to keep rowing I think of the soul and it’s worth The purpose of life is for caring And sharing our talents with all Our need to wake up and be daring For climbing the peaks that are tall I think of my true motivation For fighting the fight every day By sharing my own observation Of what I am trying to say That when we are thinking of others And linking ourselves to their good We grow by our sisters and brothers By loving them all that we could For when we are caring and giving By serving our spiritual side We know that our reason for living Is filling our need to provide For happiness comes in an instant But leaves just as quickly and fast But joy is a feeling that’s constant It builds on your future and past Some people take pleasure in taking In doing whatever they feel While others are kings in the making For choosing the fight that is real The difference between them is glaring The “measure of greatness” in fact For when you are true by your caring You do more than think when you act To love is my true motivation My reason for living this life When I am depressed by this station To conquer the fear and the strife I think of the joy in my giving To those who are needy and poor My true motivation for living My reason for loving them more.
