My Mother,My Pride

My MOTHER,MY PRIDE
MY ROLE MODEL
YOU ARE A TRUE AFRICAN WOMAN,A REAL MATRIARCH
WHEN YOU WALK,YOUR STEPS ARE LIKE THAT OF AN ELEPHANT

I LOOK UP TO YOU LIKE THIS GIGANTIC BAOBAB TREE
THE WAY YOU CARRY YOURSELF
YOUR BEAUTY IS LIKE THAT OF A PEACOCK
BIRD AMONGST BIRDS
YOU PROTECT YOUR OFFSPRINGS LIKE A HEN PROTECTING ITS CHICKS FROM THE CLAWS OF THE HAWK IN THE PRAWLING

MY MOTHER,MY PRIDE
WHERE COULD I HAVE POSSIBLY GOT SUCH A MOTHER FROM?
ONLY THE HEAVENLY ABOVE KNOWS
I WOULD NOT TRADE YOU IN FOR ANYTHING
MY MOTHER,MY PRIDE

Thanks for sharing this. Welcome to Poetry Soup. I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." God bless you.

MY MOTHER,MY PRIDE.WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THIS POEM IS THAT I KIND OF ACKNOWLEDGE MY MOTHER FOR BEING THE PERFECT MOTHER TO US.SHE RAISES HER KIDS WITH SO MUCH BRAVERY GIVEN THE FACT THAT SHE IS A SINGLE PARENT BUT WE DO NOT FEEL THE GAP OF NOT HAVING A FATHER FIGURE.I AM SO PROUD OF HER BACAUSE WE HAVE ACHIEVED SO MUCH IN LIFE AND IT WAS ALL BECAUSE OF HER HARD WORK AND PERSEVERANCE.SHE REALLY DESERVES TO BE APPRECIATED FOR THAT.
