My Moon

Where have you gone, my moon?

Fallen into the orbit of another.

Your reflected light I crave.

Staring into the darkness for you.

I know you are there.

I feel you pulling on my tides.

Hiding yourself in shadow, away from my gaze.

A crescent glimpse, then gone again.

Months no longer end.

Night has forgotten day.

My birds are lost without you.

If only you would shine again.

I would hold you in my core.

Shield you from cold space.

Let you soar with the Sun.

Always knowing closeness.

Entwined in our celestial dance.
