My Mom

she kept me
close to her heart
instilling her stare
deep within my eyes
penetrating her warmth
her care
leading me to
unfamiliar spaces
I stand alone
as she
holds me
my mom.

The one thing I remember and will always about my mom is her dark, brown eyes...those 'mom' eyes that can stare a hole in ya, or look lovingly with care as you have described here.
