My Masquerade
The real me isn't the confident one,
I fear to be hated by everyone,
My soul was consumed by desire,
A look for love to acquire,
I don't want to give myself to fear,
I don't want my true nature to appear,
What if I am not real,
At least my fake one's heart is made of steel,
Whenever I am in trouble I will always wear my masquerade,
I will not care even if my shine does fade,
Whenever I am in trouble I will always wear my masquerade,
I will not care even if scars are made.
My alter ego isn't introvert,
Because of it at least I am not hurt,
Under this mask I hold an ugly face,
Truths that no one can trace,
I wish that my mask could be my own skin,
Wearing this I feel that I am committing sin,
Still I will not fear lifting this mask again,
I guess my life was never meant to be normal again,
So whenever I am in trouble I will always wear my masquerade,
I will not care even if the plastic faces are on parade,
Whenever I am in trouble I will always wear my masquerade,
As life goes on my scars will eventually fade.
