My Love's True
My love was true, but he did not care,
He took my all, then left me bare.
I gave him my heart, and all my soul,
But his love for me, began to toll.
My body was his, but not my mind,
His greed was strong, I was left behind.
He made himself rich, at my expense,
And broke my heart, with no defence.
The scars remain, a constant pain,
A reminder, of my broken chain.
But I'll heal my heart, from this hurt,
And find new love, where I'll be nurtured, and not desert.
I'll find a love, that's true and pure,
With trust and respect, a cure.
I'll not give in, to heartache's hold,
But learn to love, with a heart of gold.
