My Lovers Affair
You are the reason for my emotional strength,
You’re the reason I’m strong,
Because of the things that you did behind me,
Those things were emotionally wrong,
Like dressing up beautiful to meet this man,
Spending hours with him through the day,
Then texting him when he wasn’t there,
Just to see if he was okay,
Or laughing off any concerns I brought up,
And then telling me those little white lies,
Were little white lies of you both just being friends,
And you saying this straight to my eyes,
You are the reason I’m now tough and alert,
Building this wall to hide what I do,
But behind this wall of emotional strength,
Is my heart that still dreams about you.
