My Life
You came into my life as a stranger who became a friend.
Playing hide and seek and other games.
Making me believe you would not hurt me.
That's just what you did.
You took away my smile and my voice.
While ripping the innocence out from underneath me,
A little girls hands tremble in fear.
I Lay there motionless trying to speak but no one heard my cries.
This is what you took from me, MY LIFE!
I’ve been told this person cares dearly,
So mom why is it that I all I heard was nasty things from you.
Taking a back seat to endless nights of drinking and drugs, now wasn’t that fun!
The day the phone rang I was surrounded by family and friends,
When you told me it was the end.
That your new life meant more to you then I did.
Don’t think I forgot about that phone call!
As I stood there that night my life flashed before my eyes.
This is what you took from me, MY LIFE.
My father once told me I would never be part of his family,
For I did not carry his last name
Mad at me because he never had the control he wanted over me
As I tried to build our relationship.
I am starting to see we are very different indeed.
You were never there for me,
Your insulting jokes my whole life and your jealousy.
I have had enough of.
You have taking my spirit and my self confidence has dwindled from all this.
I am standing up and taking back MY LIFE!
